Emily Ohlin, PT, SCS

Emily Ohlin, PT, SCS is a board certified sports specialist. She is originally from Northeast Ohio and graduated in 1994 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After working on the east coast for a few years, she re-located to Portland in 1997. She has worked in a variety of settings, including with the Portland Timbers during the inaugural MLS season and most recently, as the working director of private practice sports clinics. Her experience with athletes ranges from recreational to high school to professional.   Her assessment and treatment are individualized and based on the client’s personal goals. She is trained in both the Functional Movement System and the Select Functional Movement Assessment. Her community involvement includes movement screenings and trainer education for CrossFit, ACL injury awareness/prevention and concussion education for coaches and parents of local soccer clubs. She has done professional presentations at the Oregon Physical Therapy Association annual conference and has provided professional continuing education on The Biomechanics of the Cyclist and Bike Fit, Functional Testing for Return to Sport and Assessment and Treatment of Athletes Pelvis, Sacrum and Lumbar Spine. She has co-authored book chapters on Patellofemoral Pain in the Cyclist and on Athletic Pubalgia. Her treatment philosophy is biased toward patient education, exercise and training proper movement patterns to return the athlete to sport quickly and safely.
